Union members at East Coast ports are being told to save now for a potential strike when the contract expires in September next year. This couldn’t come at a worse time:
  • The Panama Canal is running at significantly reduced capacity.
  • Shipping companies are now breakeven at best.
  • Additional ships coming online will further depress pricing.
